I’m very fond of the “Official information request “, i asked the IRD , inland revenue dept, if men and women are required to pay tax in New Zealand,
I received a 2 page reply , 99% of it was designed to put you off and upset you, but right at the very end in bold capitals it said, ALL PERSONS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY TAX. exactly what i wanted to hear, I used their reply as evidence -along with my certificate of live birth- in the 3 step process . worked a treat, pissed their lawyer off no end judging by the tone and threats he made … “we will keep these on record!!” . was the worst he could come up with. made my heart sing as all i did was ask questions .who wouldn’t be upset if it was pointed out to me how shonkey my career is. Knowing what questions to ask, how to ask them i find is key so am looking forward to using the ideas from this module.
